La Spiaggia Sparkling Glera 2025

Silver Medal
2025 Royal Adelaide Wine Show

95 Points
I'm not quite sure why we import so much Prosecco into the country, when wines like this eclipse the bulk of them. Freshier, drier, just so much more enjoyable. Apple blossom, Lisbon lemon, cool peach, sugar snap, a waft of ozone, the balance a point, dry but with enough yield, the refreshment factor high. I don't think you can ask much more from a bottle of Charmat/Martinotti Prosecco (or glera, if you prefer).

Pale green-yellow. Shy nose with icing sugar and smoky reductive elements at first—which cleared quickly, the palate lean and crisp with a touch of grip leaving a very appetising finish that calls for food. Oysters would work well.
