This is impressively fruited and perfumed on the nose with blackberry, violet, toasty oak, star anise, and dark chocolate aromas, leading to a concentrated palate offering velvety texture and delectably complex flavours. Splendidly structured by layers of polished tannins, making it wonderfully harmonious and multi-layered with a sustained, gratifying finish. At its best: now to 2037.

Dense plummy red in the glass. Aromas of plum, mulberry, dried herbs, spice, briar, iodine and clovey oak. Powerful, mouth-filling, dark fruited and with firm, mouth-coating tannins and some bright acidity keeping the plush fruit behaving. Long and layered.
