Jester Sangiovese Rosé 2026

Story

The life of the party, the instigator of frivolity, the undying entertainer. A modern-day jester gathers friends around regularly to eat and drink well, and much like their medieval predecessors, reminds us that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Tasting Note

Delicately floral, crisp and fresh with lovely fruit balance, mineral undertones and subtle spice notes. Strawberries and cream, crushed raspberries, cranberry, light herbs and hint of dry spice. Crunchy acidity and a flicker of ever so light tannins dance elegantly through the palate, surrounded by silkiness and light bodied flesh, to a refreshing finish. 

Winemaking

Harvested in the cool early morning hours, then transferred directly to the winery where the grapes are destemmed and pressed immediately off skins, minimising colour pick up as much as possible. The juice is cold settled for 1 week before racking clean, then fermented cool down to 14˚C until it is completely dry. After ferment, the wine is sulphured, heat and cold stabilised and sterile filtered before bottling. 

Vineyard

Lopresti Lot 11 Vineyard - Flour Mill Road, Whites Valley, McLaren Vale.

Located in close proximity to the Gulf of St Vincent in the Whites Valley area of McLaren Vale between Willunga and Aldinga. The heavy clay here promotes strong growth in spring but dries out and cracks in summer, pulling back vine vigour as they approach veraison. The coastal location also allows sea breezes from the Gulf of St Vincent to mediate daytime heat during the critical ripening period.
