Mitolo's first Montepulciano release

Have you ever tried a McLaren Vale Montepulciano? The second most abundant variety in Italy, Montepulciano's bold and rich red characteristics are surging in popularity here in Australia.

Mitolo is thrilled to announce the release of its first ever Montepulciano - the 2021 Masso, along with the highly sought after 2020 Ourea Sagrantino.

Masso Montepulciano
Like the Mitolo family, this variety hails from the Abruzzo region east of Rome. Our first Montepulciano release, Masso was sourced from the rocky profile of the Lopresti Ridgehaven Vineyard - creating a bold yet inviting experience.

Ourea Sagrantino
Rarely seen outside of Italy, Mitolo is one of the only producers of a Sagrantino in Australia. Quickly selling out last year, the 2020 Ourea Sagrantino has a powerful tannin line and an assertive palate, while the core of fruit shines through with blackcurrant, redcurrant and mulberry.
