The life of the party, the instigator of frivolity, the undying entertainer. A modern-day jester gathers friends around regularly to eat and drink well, and much like their medieval predecessors, reminds us that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Tasting Note

Bursting with fresh crushed cherry, raspberry, cranberry, red flowers and hints of bramble and nutmeg. Light bodied and juicy with granular tannins and fine, succulent acidity.


Crushed and destemmed, fermented in 8 tonne potter fermenters and pumped over twice daily. Temperatures were kept cool, between 20 and 24ºC, to retain fruit vibrancy and ensure a soft tannin structure. After ferment the wine was pressed off to 70% stainless steel tank, 20% seasoned French and 10% seasoned American oak hogshead barrels for 12 months maturation, with natural malolactic fermentation occurring during this time. The blend was then put together and held in stainless steel tank to preserve freshness until bottling. The final wine is unfined with light filtration only.


Joe’s Block - Hahn Road, Sellicks Hill. 

The site, atop Ngaltinga Formation, is characterised by its dark to very dark brown, well-structured and free draining clay loam soils. Sea breezes from the Gulf St Vincent mediate day time heat during the critical ripening period. These elements serve to elevate aromatics, retain vibrancy, and encourage silky tannins in the fruit.
