Jester Sangiovese Rosé - 2023

93 Points
Fresh and bright, the inviting bouquet shows grapefruit, crunchy apple and raspberry aromas, leading to a lively palate that's juicy and linear. Mouth-watering and instantly appealing. At its best: now to 2026.

The colour of summer in pretty pink blush hues. A seriously enjoyable young rosé with Sangiovese as the basis for exploring a cherry, raspberry, dusty earthiness with just the merest whisper of musk confection – just a hint which lifts aromatically. Offers a fairly understated palate which is probably a little more European in tone and demeanour than trad fruity Australian, very stylish, very food-friendly as well as the perfect aperitif. A delightful bright and zesty youngster.

Brilliant pale salmon pink are immediately enticing. Strawberry and subtle raspberry notes on the nose with a slightly spicy lift. Lovely crunchy mouth feel delivers a fine lingering mouthwatering palate. The slightly textural mouth feel heightens its appeal.

From McLaren Vale, this is a delightful Rose, made from Sangiovese, which is picked early morning, destemmed, crushed and pressed immediately, the intention being to minimise the pick up of colour. The result is exactly that – a very pale pink with flecks of sunset. The nose gives us strawberries and cherries with dry herbs and a chalk/mineral backing. This is clean and fresh with a sweet cherry core on the palate. Chill and enjoy this over the next couple of years. A fine, fresh Rose with a sense of refinement, providing delicious drinking.

Light and bright salmon pink with a lively nose of red frog confectionery and crushed quartz. Bright and crunchy redcurrant and thyme on entry with a zippy acid line keeping it fresh. Decent length; some earthy hints towards the clean and crisp finish.

Lots of tart fruit and herbal nuances, as per good Sangiovese varietal character, I think. Sour cranberries, briar rose, watermelon rind. Dusty texture, finishing dry with pink grapefruit and a hint of liquorice lift. Fruity and savoury notes. This will satisfy your rose craving swiftly.
