A dark plummy red in the glass. Aromas of plum, mulberry, bramble, spice and dried herbs. Dark fruited, juicy and mouth filling, with plenty of presence and decent shape.

From the Lopresti vineyard in Sellicks Hill; 16 months in seasoned oak, 80% French and 20% American. It was another cool year, but this comes off clay in a sunny and warmer site, so it doesn't lack for depth of fruit and flavour. There's richness and polish, a splay of dark berries and plum, a little spice and leathery, earthy complexity. There's a lot of wine here for $25
