La Spiaggia Sparkling Glera - 2022

91 POINTS
In a word, this 2022 La Spiaggia Sparkling Glera is lovely. It is everything we expect from Glera - light, green, apples, pears, white flowers, talc and saline. This is very pretty, fresh and lively. It is not at all a basic Glera, yet an unfettered view of the variety. Pure. I love the mousse, which is ultra fine and pillowy. Drink it just like this - don't bother with bottle aging, it is gorgeous now.

Glera is otherwise known as prosecco. This is good. Brisk, frothy and refreshing. Juicy nashi pear, baked green apple and a slither of white pepper eking its way across an exuberant finish that, mercifully, is perceivably lipsmacking dry. A bit of banana peel on the nose, but that is a small price to pay.

Ultra-pale lemon with a creamy mousse building. Green apples and sea spray aromatics. Bright and fresh with clean green apple fruit, a light bead, and a moment of freshening saline acidity. Reasonable length and crisp to the finish.
